The origins of flowers associated with each month of the year go back at least to the Middle Ages. The combinations vary in different parts of the world, but this list is widely used in the United States and Britain.
January
Carnation’s traditionally signify fascination, admiration, pure love, or Mother’s love. Pink carnations are especially significant to the Christian belief, where it is said that when Mother Mary saw her son, Jesus, carrying his cross, she shed a tear, and from the place that tear fell, a carnation grew. From that time on, it has been believed to signify a mother’s undying love for her children.
February
Violets symbolize modesty, faithfulness, and virtue.
March
Based on Narcissus, a character in Greek Mythology who fell in love with his own reflection in the mirror. They are symbols of Chivalry, respect, fidelity, or unrequited love.
April
Daisies symbolize cheerfulness, friendship, rest, abundance, and wealth. Red daisies mean love, yellow daisies mean slighted love, while white daisies mean truth.
May
The Lily of the Valley symbolizes sweetness, return of happiness, and Completion.
June
Roses are symbolic of love, but different colors have separate meanings. Red means love, respect, and courage. Pink means grace, and perfect happiness. Dark pink means gratitude. Light pink means admiration or sympathy. White means innocence, purity, secrecy, and humility. Yellow means undying lover, platonic love, and friendship. Orange means passion, or desire. Blue means extraordinary, or mystery. Red roses are the most sought after flowers for a Valentine's Day gift.

The water lily signifies flight of fancy, ardent attachment, and agility.
August
The gladiolus signifies grace, strong and strong character.
September
Asters come from the Greek word meaning “star” and symbolizes love, daintiness, and after thought.

Cosmos are a single flower atop a delicate, sometimes hairy stem, in white, red, pink, brown, orange, yellow, or purple
November
Chrysanthemums, also called daisies or mums, mean you're a wonderful friend, and are symbolic of rest, loveliness, abundance, wealth.

The narcissus signifies self-esteem and vanity. All daffodils are narcissi, but not all narcissi are daffodils.
